Dana Beardshear is the creative behind the blue door and the Story Architect of the many distinct places within the Story Emporium.
She begins with people—their relationships, curiosities, milestones, traditions, and hopes—and creates thoughtful ways for them to experience life more fully.
The materials change: books, questions, food, nature, correspondence, celebration, mystery, or play. The intention remains the same: create something meaningful enough to become part of someone’s story.

We wanted Story Emporium to feel different from the moment you arrived: a curious little world where you can open doors, follow stories and discover something you were not looking for.
What you find here is different, too. We create experiences, adventures, gatherings and imaginative ideas meant to leave the screen and become part of real life. Families can explore together, couples can share something unexpected, friends can gather and children can wonder.
Sometimes something wonderful to do together matters more than another thing to own.

Why Story Emporium
exists.
There was a time when people regularly gathered around kitchen tables, on porches, beneath trees and beside fires. They made food for one another, invented games, told familiar stories and found reasons to celebrate in the middle of ordinary life.
Somewhere along the way, many of us began to believe that celebration had to be elaborate, expensive or picture-perfect. Hospitality became something to perform. Play became something reserved for children. The small rituals that helped us care for ourselves and one another began quietly disappearing.
Story Emporium grew from my love of those things.
For much of my life, I have created gatherings, celebrations, dinners and adventures—from small, unexpected moments of delight to elaborate events. Each is created with the same intention: to bring people closer through beautiful, meaningful experiences worth remembering. I have seen an ordinary evening become part of a family’s history because of one imaginative detail, one shared story or one moment nobody expected.
Story Emporium is a home for everything I have adored creating in real life—now shaped into experiences and ideas that others can bring into their own lives.
We believe in creating fewer things with greater care. There are real people here, and we care deeply about what we offer and what happens after someone purchases it. We consider people and the planet alongside profit, and we want everything we create to be thoughtful, useful, wonder-filled and worthy of becoming part of someone’s life.
